Booster Club Meeting for August 2015

August 11,2015

Call to Order:  6:08 PM

Attendees: Chris Shaw, Brooke Shaw, Jorgi Anderson, James Loggins, Jennifer Loggins,

Zeke Sanchez, Clara Bushell(paid her dues), Norma Torres, (Band President and VP),

Financials(Jorgi Anderson)- Jorgi stated that we have about $186.34 in our account, Jorgi did state that we need to pull some funds from the card sales to offset sponsor checks that we received for the golf tourney(exact amount to be determined, range of $800-1000)

Band Boosters President and VP were there and were inquiring as to whether they could sell certain items at the games to help fundraise for their competitions and to help with costs..We suggested that they can sell spirit items that don’t conflict with our items that we are selling, we also asked them to not sell food or drink items that conflict with us either as we use the concession money to raise funds to feed the players

Jorgi will handle pre-game 9/11 activities (National Anthem or themed songs by band, JROTC Flag Ceremony, decorating)

We voted and approved Jorgi to order 100 9/11 Shirts at costof $4.50/shirt, we will see for $8.00

We all voted and approved the purchase of yard signs for the boys once we get the card money deposited into our account.

We decided to table the Senior Night/Homecoming Committee discussion until Sept. Meeting

We discussed assigning parents to work concession stands in place of just volunteering as we did not have adequate help last year

We discussed needing to get the golf tourney in the newspaper or some outlet to get word out there about the tournament(currently we have only  10 paying golfers, Chris has atleast 10-12 more that have confirmed but just haven’t paid yet.

We have acquired Kurt Warner & Alex Len signed autograph photos and a Suns Swag Bag, but we need more silent auction items

Clara Bushell also discussed selling Terrible towels, Combs Tattoos and bandanas(we decided to hold off on these until we have more funds in our account)

Clara Bushell also has a sponsor that is interested in buying a Run-through Blow-up Tunnel and she is in talks with him in regards to this item

Chris confirmed that Viking Auto Glass wants to sponsor

We discussed and approved selling Sonic Community Cards(they are no cost to us and sell for $5 each)

James will contact Walgreens and Fry’s to see if we can sell our actual apparel in there stores

James will contact Santa about Senior Night Banners, and where to purchase them from(e-mail was sent)

We voted and Chris has been approved to order the banners and the shirts for golf tourney as those are pre-paid sponsors and we have to have them in time for the tourney

We need to confirm how to get the money from the e-mail blast that was sent to the District Athletic Club account to our booster account as it was very misleading as to where the money was going

James will check with his friend about handling the fireworks display for Homecoming/Senior Night game

Jennifer addressed $5 booster fee(for voting rights) several things were discussed as we had a lot of new parents ie: end of season banquet, mentioned website, hitting the pavement to get sponsors, 9/11 game, we really stressed needing help with fundraising and specifically atleast making contact with several of the closer businesses in the area and getting our name out there.

Chris and Jennifer talked about having different food trucks out at the games this year, also getting food brought in(ie: Chick Fil-A , FIlibertos, Little Ceasars, Buddy’s Pizza) to sell to make it easier on the concession duties

Chris said that he has found 3 new sponsors for the Golf Tourney( American Family, Pest Control Company)

Chris said that we will need swag bag items and people to fill those bags for golf tourney, Chris has also reached out to Kohl’s and Encanterra to get volunteers for golf tourney

Chris mentioned that he or Jorgi will get in touch with JROTC to due flag ceremony, also maybe had the band perform something specific, also County Fire Chief and Paul Babeu will be at the game , we will also have helicopter fly over at halftime

Adjourned:7:56 pm( Jorgi Motion, Brooke-2nd)
